Great article Brianna! Islam has been misinterpreted since day one I think. There is actually stories that say that Prophet Mohammed encouraged men to treat women with equal respect. There is a whole chapter in the Quran that talks about women and their rights. If you would read and study the chapter carefully you will realize that if anything women have a greater right than man do. I think that is not just Islam but also culture plays a big role on how women are treated. Regardless of religion, we can notice that a lot of cultures have in common in regards to the superiority men have over women. Great article! thanks for sharing :)
